Interview
By C4 (http://www.str8hiphop.com/user/50391)
SHH:
Where are you from?
P.P:
Born in the BX Fordham and Valentine Raised in Queens - I?m living in Tampa
Florida Now
RD: In
Detroit Michigan raised in spring hill/Tampa Florida.
SHH:
How was it growing up in your area?
P.P: In
the BX I was quite young so my views on my surrounding were thru an
apartment window. I?ve seen hustlers, fight, smoke ciphers, hoes, and rap
ciphers. Later on we moved to Queens it was all about being popular. Who
can bag the baddest chick, who look like they had money, who had the new
jays so on and so forth. I didn't have all the gear, naw mean I was a son
to a single mother who had 3 jobs, but I had the ill knowledge to adjust
any environment and my dudes rolled with me because of that.

align=left
alt="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/robsolo.jpg">RD: Ehhhh it was
cake. I grew up in the subs with a bunch of wanna be thugs. My town is
basically a place for retirement so everybody who moved there was from NY
or somewhere else up top. I built my team quick though so I was straight.
SHH:
What's the hip hop/R&B scene like in your area?
P.P: If
your freestyle game wasn?t up there, you better be pretty boy or a hooper
because rap scene was like a game of streets of rage. They got this open
mic joint called the cipher every Wednesday that?s where Team Inc honed our
skills. From there we went from spitting on stage to doing performance in
various places in Tampa.
RD: Most
of the rappers in spring hill are whack for lack of a better word. Keep in
mind I said most not all. It?s some talented cats in Tampa though. Central
Florida just isn?t generating a lot of money of music so it?s kind of hard
to maintain. If your grind is up to par you can still make it happen.
SHH:
When did you feel you wanted to start a career in music?
P.P: Aww
Mann this story is crazy, this when I went to school for all the wrong
reason, wasted time and money. I was freestyling at HCC (Hillsborough
Community College) and Greg the dc at the time was working for 88.5. A
local radio station, and not for nothing, me and Money Blims and some other
guy was spitting for about an hour back and forth. Afterward he came up to
me and was like yo where you from blah blah and he was like yo I work for a
radio station can you come thru with a CD. It took about a week, but me
Enzo and justified jay come up with the ill Shorty track and got it spun
the same day. Not only that I had my peoples listen in to once I seen the
love I got from the message I was putting out it?s a feeling I?m trying to
share with the world. Later on I meet up with rob and we joined forces and
created TeamInc the rest history
RD: My
senior year in high school. You can basically say I was that dude in high
school. I played damn near every sport and was exceptional in all of them.
I had a few d2 scholarships offered to me for football but I just wasn?t as
passionate about sports as I was about music. So I made my decision. Once I
meet up with Poppa PREME we decided were going take the game over point
blank period.
SHH:
What artists influence your music if any?
P.P:
Jay-Z, Charles Hamilton, Kanye West, Wayne for creativity, Nickelus F,
Murda Mook, Nas at times, Joe Buddens, Lupe, Wale, the list goes on and on
basically anybody who take music to the next level and keep it timeless.
RD: Joe
Budden, Lil Wayne, Tupac, Lupe Drake, T.I., Kanye
SHH:
How would you describe your style/sound to the people?
RD/P.P:
Swagtastic haha. See a lot of people sleep on us cause our main focus is
the female fan base. What can I say the ladies love us. But if you know
Team Inc you know we got bars. If you listen to our mixtapes and not just
the songs in the clubs/radio etc. You?d know. We are very versatile with
the pen. We are unique. I can?t call it though you just got to hear it for
yourself. I couldn't really describe our sound because I hear different
things every time. The type of music I create has that 2009 live sound to
it. I make music that?s easy on the ears and at the same time stimulate to
the mind to create my picture in your eyes..Yeah like that haha!
src="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/preme.jpg"
align=right alt="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/preme.jpg">SHH: What are you working on right now?
RD: What
am I not working on. Right now I got a single called above the sky ft Ryan
Kendrick that I?m pushing heavy. Definite hit record. Also I?m in the lab
working on songs for Bubba Sparxxx new album. Like I said before I?m a
writer. If you need a hit you found the right guy. Other than that just
putting my team on the map as well. TeamInc is in the building. We goin
hard for the 09!
P.P:
Working on a solo mixtape hosted by DJ Spinatik called Billion Dollar
Dream. In the mean time I?m still doing several shows and getting me
and my team name out there. Look out for Rob Diesel Capricorn mixtape, our
2000grind mixtape ,and Young Joe single with 2pistols aka MR. She Got IT..
and I can?t forget the bar-ra-saurus rex Fly@z Fuk he'll be working his E.P
SHH:
What's your outlook for 2009 (What are your goals for the year)?
RD/P.P:
Get heavy rotation for the single. Promo and more promo, getting as much
exposure and trying my best to take advantage of site like yours. I just
want exposure right now to stay on these A & R toes.
SHH:
What producers are you working with? Right now The Super Daves (Bubba
Sparxx producers)Johnny Juliano, Cap, Chavz, Left Field, Cory Bold, K-Fed.
Looking to expand my horizons. Left Field Productions, but in the past
we?ve fucked with M.Rell, Tre-Holla, Wally Clark and many more Tampa
Producers.
SHH:
Who would you like to work with in the future mainstream or underground?
P.P:
Mainstream Artists would have to be Hov, T-Pain, Wayne, and Drake, that
another vast list of artist but honestly Big or Pac. As for underground ill
work with whoever is willing to push the track and has a direction for the
song. It?s the one hand Wash the Other Theory.
src="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/robdiesel.jpg"
align=left
alt="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/robdiesel.jpg">RD: Mary J Blige, The Dream, T-Pain,
Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, Kanye, Keri Hilton, Timbaland, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg.
There?s plenty more but those are who I can think of off top.
SHH:
What do you feel separates you from the next artist trying to make it in
rap?
P.P:
Honestly I worked to damn hard, I?m never satisfied, and my goals is not to
make it as a get rich quick plan. I want to be top 10 on at least the
majority of world list. My views on life are different then the next cause
I?ve been in so many places my stories never end. Plus my determination
would not only separate but at least keep me neck to neck to the next big
artist.
RD:
Talent, Image, and the grind. I go hard for mines and unfortunately a lot
of others rappers weren?t blessed with these charming good looks haha. Not
to toot my own horn but that?s the reality of the situation. I don?t have
these blue eyes to work behind a desk. I?m not lacking in any category. I?m
that total package. I just need to be opened.
SHH:
If not music what would you be doing?
src="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/premesolo.jpg"
align=right
alt="http://www.str8hiphop.com/../str8hiphop/Pictures/premesolo.jpg">RD: College. Trying to figure out what
else I love in life besides music. Probably try and be a scientist or
something like that.
P.P:
sleeping, taking care of my daughter, marketing, promo, coming up with
ideas, you tubing all the songs I loved back in 90s or working on the many
sites I have.
SHH:
Where can people check out some of your music?
